International conference on Turkmenistan tourism held in Osaka
On August 29, 2025, an international conference titled "Turkmenistan — A Country of Friendship and Hospitality" was held at the Turkmenistan national pavilion at the "EXPO-2025" World Exhibition in Osaka. The hybrid-format event focused on the development of Turkmenistan's tourism industry.
The conference provided a platform for discussing cooperation prospects between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of tourism and exploring the private sector's role in strengthening bilateral ties.
Kerimberdi Kurbanov, Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, gave a welcoming speech via video link. Other speakers included Nursakhet Shirimov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan; Gulshat Bakiyeva, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture; Sakhra Amanova, Director of the "Eshretli syyakhat" economic entity; and other representatives from private Turkmen travel agencies. Among the foreign participants, Kuniyoshi Takada, Managing Director of the Japanese company All Seasons Travel Co., also delivered a speech.
The event's program featured a video presentation titled "Turkmenistan — A Country of Friendship and Hospitality" and bilateral meetings between tourism industry representatives.
Representatives from several Japanese travel companies also attended the conference, including Asia Trading Co., Ltd., Saiyu Travel (Yuko Matsumoto), Silkroad Travel (Hisahiro Sasaka), and World Air-Sea Service Co.Ltd.
