Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan
On August 20, a meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The discussion was attended by members of the Presidium, heads of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of political parties and public organizations, as well as media representatives.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of high-level preparations for the next meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty, which will be held in September on the eve of the celebration of the 34th anniversary of the country's independence. The National Leader emphasized that these events are important for further strengthening national unity, developing the country and observing the traditions of jointly discussing key tasks of society.
Particular attention was paid to socio-economic results and tasks for the future: maintaining macroeconomic stability, developing economic sectors, introducing digital technologies, stimulating private entrepreneurship, improving the standard of living of the population, improving agriculture, industry, education and healthcare.
During the meeting, the issues of nomination for state awards and conferring honorary titles to citizens who have achieved high labor success were also considered. The importance of the role of Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality in ensuring peace in the region and on the planet within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust was emphasized.
In addition, measures were discussed to improve Ashgabat and create comfortable conditions for residents and guests of the capital during the events related to the anniversary of neutrality and preparation for the international forum to be held on December 12. The National Leader noted that the celebration of the 30th anniversary of neutrality should be held at a high organizational level, in accordance with the traditions of hospitality of the Turkmen people.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the resolutions of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty on convening a meeting of the highest representative body and creating an Organizing Committee for its holding, emphasizing the historical significance of the upcoming events and celebrations for the state and society.
