According to market analysts, the global semiconductor market is undergoing strong growth, with revenue reaching $180 billion in the second quarter. This marks the sixth consecutive quarter of growth exceeding 18%, indicating stable and rapid development within the sector.

A major development has been the shift in market leadership:

Nvidia took the top spot with a significant lead, earning $45 billion in revenue.

Samsung secured second place with $19.9 billion.

Intel, a long-time market leader, dropped to fifth place with $12.9 billion.

The significant growth in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector has been a key driver, particularly for memory manufacturers. For instance, SK hynix's revenue grew by 26%, which helped it climb to third place in the rankings.

Analysts now anticipate that the semiconductor sector's total revenue for 2025 will increase by 13%, a significant revision from the previous forecast of no more than 7% growth.
