XDC high-speed optical communication for data centers
X Display Company (XDC) has introduced a groundbreaking wireless optical communication technology capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 1 million frames per second. This system utilizes an ultra-fast microLED display as a transmitter and a high-speed camera as a receiver, enabling instantaneous machine-to-machine communication, effectively replacing traditional cables.
This innovation is designed for data centers, where it aims to achieve a throughput of up to 1 Tbps, surpassing most current networking solutions. The primary advantages of XDC's technology include high energy efficiency (2-3 times better than existing 800G standards) and the elimination of the need for expensive cabling, which simplifies infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
