Invitations to International Forums Presented to Italian Prime Minister
On June 19, a meeting took place at the Chigi Palace in Rome between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Italy, Toyly Komekov, and Pietro Sferra Carini, Deputy Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Italy. The discussion centered on the outcomes of the first "Central Asia – Italy" summit held in Astana, as well as the bilateral meeting between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on March 30, 2025.
The parties discussed preparations for major upcoming events, including the organization of a business forum dedicated to the development of Turkmen-Italian cooperation. During the meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan handed over the original invitation to the International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat, as well as an invitation to the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, to be held on August 5–8, 2025.
The conversation also covered the development of bilateral relations in the fields of energy, agriculture, the textile industry, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Both sides confirmed their interest in strengthening partnerships and expanding collaboration in the mentioned areas.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants exchanged best wishes for peace and prosperity to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Italy, emphasizing the importance of continued productive dialogue and cooperation.
