Turkmenistan, due to the difficult epidemiological situation in the region and the world and in order to protect citizens’ health, extended the previously imposed restrictions on travel and the operation of trade and public catering facilities, culture and service until March 1, 2021. During this period, the country restricts the operation of trade enterprises (with the exception of shops selling food and consumer goods) and public catering (banquet halls, restaurants, cafes and canteens). The activities of cinemas, theaters, amusement parks, museums, beauty salons, baths and sports facilities (swimming pools, fitness and aerobics clubs) are restricted. The restrictions also spread to all types of short-term paid courses and game centers, irrespective of their form of ownership. At the same time, until March 1 this year, the work permit for hairdressers and sewing ateliers is extended, upon condition that they strictly comply with the current sanitary and hygienic standards, disinfection rules and the schedule of their work from 09:00 to 20:00. The restrictions on holding all sports competitions, including the Student Games and the Olympics, as well as on visiting mosques and performing pilgrimages to places of religious worship, have been extended for the same period. Turkmenistan has extended the ban on passenger rail transport and intercity bus travels until March 1, 2021. The cancellation of all international flights of Turkmenistan Airlines from Ashgabat and back is also being extended. Namely, to Istanbul, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Minsk, Almaty, Frankfurt am Main, Birmingham, Amritsar, Delhi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beijing and Bangkok. Purchased tickets remain valid until the end of the current year with the possibility of exchange or refund until the specified date at the place of purchase. Previously, all these restrictions were extended until January 31, 2021.
