On June 13, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Venezuela were held in Ashgabat. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Myahri Byashimova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Venezuelan side was headed by Tatiana Pugh Morena, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The negotiations culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a mechanism for political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during the political consultations the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues, assessed the current level of political and diplomatic dialogue and the implementation of previously reached agreements. It was emphasized that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Venezuela is developing based on the principles of respect, equality and mutually beneficial partnership.

The parties noted with satisfaction the positive experience of interaction between the two countries on international platforms, in particular within the framework of the United Nations. Here, they provide mutual support and act as co-authors of significant international initiatives, which demonstrates the similarity of their approaches to global issues.

A mutual desire to intensify trade and economic cooperation was expressed. The focus was on such promising areas as energy, the oil and gas industry, "green" technologies and agriculture.

Possible initiatives for the exchange of cultural programs and the organization of joint educational projects aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties between peoples were discussed.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed a plan of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Venezuela, which emphasizes the long-term nature of their partnership.
