Ashgabat, May 21 | ORIENT. On May 20, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurnoy held a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myakhri Byashimova, the Belarusian Embassy in Ashgabat reported on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues, paying special attention to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation in Science and Technology. This meeting is intended to be an important step in activating the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects in the scientific and technical sphere. In addition, the diplomats examined in detail the issues of interaction between Belarus and Turkmenistan within the framework of various international organizations. A significant part of the talks was devoted to deepening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Although specific events are not named, traditionally this area includes the exchange of creative groups, holding cultural days, organizing exhibitions, cooperation in the field of education and science, as well as interaction in the field of healthcare. Given the rich history of cultural ties between Belarus and Turkmenistan, intensification in this area will contribute to further strengthening friendly relations and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

The meeting confirmed mutual readiness for further development of the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, the importance of regular contacts at various levels to realize the existing potential for cooperation.
