Turkmenistan and South Korea discuss cooperation in horse breeding and equestrian culture


The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Seoul, Begench Durdyyev, held a meeting with the Director of the Korea Racing Authority Equine Research Institute in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, Mr. Ko Sung-kyu. The primary topic of the discussions was the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of horse breeding and the exchange of expertise in equestrian culture.
During the meeting, Ambassador Durdyev provided his Korean counterpart with detailed information regarding the initiatives undertaken under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for the development of horse breeding and the widespread popularization of equestrian sports in the country. He also provided information about the activities of the State Association "Türkmenatlary" and the International Equestrian Academy named after Aba Annayev, located in the city of Arkadag.
Emphasizing the significance of developing international cooperation, Ambassador Durdyev invited Mr. Ko, a well-known expert on equestrian culture in Korea, to consider the possibility of his country's representation in the International Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding Association.

In turn, Mr. Ko Sung-kyu expressed sincere admiration for the attention that Turkmenistan pays to the development of equestrian sports. He recalled the deep impression left by his participation in the National Turkmen Horse Day in 2016 and particularly praised the unique qualities and beauty of the Ahal-Teke horses. The Korean expert expressed a strong interest in developing future cooperation with Turkmenistan in this field, including joining the International Ahal-Teke Horse Breeding Association.
Thus, the meeting highlighted the mutual interest in expanding the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in such an important and historically significant area as horse breeding and equestrian culture, opening new opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
