During a government meeting, the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyyev, presented a report to the Head of State, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the agency's economic performance for the first quarter of 2025.

According to the announced data, the growth rate of work performed and services rendered across the complex amounted to 118.4%, indicating a positive trend in the development of the country's transport and communication infrastructure. Particular attention was drawn to the indicators in the field of transportation: passenger transportation demonstrated a growth rate of 101.4%, and freight transportation across all modes of transport reached 104.3%. These figures are particularly significant against the backdrop of the consequences of the global pandemic, which severely impacted global logistics and the transport system, especially in the aviation sector.

Today, it can be stated with confidence that Turkmenistan's transport industry is recovering and even experiencing accelerated growth. The performance of the Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmen Airlines) agency proved particularly impressive, with a service growth rate exceeding planned targets by more than a quarter in January–March, reaching 126.5%.

Slightly behind the aviators were their colleagues from the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary agency, whose indicators are also impressive at 125.5% plan fulfillment.

Communication specialists from the Türkmenaragatnaşyk agency fulfilled their planned tasks by 122%, demonstrating a steady increase in demand for telecommunications and postal services.

Completing the list of the quarter's leaders are the Türkmenawtoulaglary agency and the Türkmendemirýollary agency, achieving plan fulfillment levels of 110.4% and 107.1% respectively. Their stable results underscore the importance of developing land-based logistics in the context of Turkmenistan's growing transit role. Thus, the results of the first quarter confirm that the country's transport and communication sector is laying a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and international integration.
