Turkmen students awarded laureates at poetry competition in St. Petersburg

The XIX City Student Competition of Eastern Poetry named after D.A. Granin was held at the St. Petersburg University of Humanities and Social Sciences. Students from 20 Russian universities, representing various countries including Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Belarus, Zimbabwe, China, Vietnam, Lebanon, Iran, Mauritania, Morocco, Angola, Palestine, Pakistan, Syria, Kazakhstan, and others, participated in the event. The theme of the competition was dedicated to the love of the Motherland and the preservation of peace throughout the world.

Following the creative competition, Turkmen students honorably represented their country and secured a distinguished third place. The Turkmen youth were represented at the competition by students from the St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University: Bibisoltan Rematullaeva and Nargiza Zaripjanova, first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as Naryman Myradov, a student of the Preparatory Faculty.

They performed a poetic composition dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, incorporating into their performance verses by the great Turkmen poets Magtymguly Fragi, Gurbannazar Ezizov, and Berdinazar Hudaynazarov.

As reported by the Turkmen students, their preparation for participation in the competition was undertaken by senior lecturers of the Russian Language Department, Irina Bugaeva and Anna Kiselnikova, with the assistance of the Dean's Office for work with foreign students. Their fellow students, as well as lecturers from the Russian Language Department, came to support the contestants.
