The 2025 Winter Asian Games, held in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China, concluded on February 14th with historic results. This event was a landmark occasion for the region, with over 1,200 athletes from 34 Asian countries and regions participating, setting a new record for the number of participants.

The Games took place over 8 days and included 64 events across 11 disciplines, featuring mixed doubles curling, ski mountaineering, and synchronized freestyle ski acrobatics for the first time.

The closing ceremony, held under the theme "Spring Warms Harbin, Love Inspires Asia," was attended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The Chinese team topped the medal table, winning 32 gold, 27 silver, and 26 bronze medals. Gao Zhidan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Games, noted that the Games demonstrated the spirit of unity and sportsmanship.

In 2029, Saudi Arabia will host the Winter Asian Games for the first time in history. Harbin Mayor Wang Hesheng handed over the flag to Huo ZhenTing, the first vice president of the Olympic Council of Asia, who in turn presented it to His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Saudi Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
