As part of his visit to Tehran, Rashid Meredov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Wednesday, February 12.

During the audience, the head of the Foreign Ministry conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing reciprocal greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan, emphasized the noticeable intensification of Iranian-Turkmen relations and noted the importance of the telephone conversation held on February 10 with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

The President of Iran outlined his focus on further constructive work with Turkmenistan in the areas of energy, transport, water resources and others.

The parties noted the importance of joint events within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, reported the press release of MFA of Turkmenistan.
