A special anniversary medal is planned to be established in Azerbaijan to mark the 150th anniversary of the national press. According to Report, the medal will be named "150th Anniversary of the Azerbaijani National Press (1875-2025)."

This year, Azerbaijan will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the creation of its national press. The first Azerbaijani newspaper, "Ekhinci," was published on July 22, 1875, under the leadership of one of the prominent figures of the enlightenment movement of his time, Hasan bey Zardabi.

"Ekhinci" laid the foundation for national press in Azerbaijan. In this regard, July 22 is annually celebrated in Azerbaijan as National Press Day.
