The Border Management Program in Central Asia strengthens expert knowledge in customs valuation in the region

On January 29, 2025, an online lecture was held, with participation from customs officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Expert Marta Kannel from Latvia emphasized the importance of accurate customs valuation for the correct application of tariff rates and the calculation of the taxable base, which directly affects government revenue collection. Participants received practical recommendations on applying various valuation methods, which contributes to compliance with customs regulations and ensures fair trading conditions.

This event is part of a series of online training sessions aimed at supporting the effectiveness of customs services in the region.
