A cultural evening titled "Treasures of Turkmenistan" was held at the Turkmen Embassy in Brussels, Belgium. The event highlighted Turkmen arts and culture and served as a continuation of the Turkmen art exhibition organized as part of the Civilisations: Winter Edition art fair.

The gathering brought together diplomats, art collectors, art enthusiasts, and other guests interested in exploring Turkmenistan's rich cultural heritage.

The evening featured an exhibition of traditional Turkmen crafts, including carpets, jewelry, and textiles, which had already garnered significant interest at the MUSE gallery. The embassy exhibition provided additional context through stories about the symbolism and meaning of each piece, offering a deeper understanding of Turkmenistan's unique culture.

Elena Kharitonova, Director of the European Central Asian Creative Alliance, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate on such events that promote Turkmen heritage on the international stage.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation by Sheker Akiniyazova, head of the "Keshde" creative studio. She shared the history of Turkmen applied arts, unique techniques, and distinctive features that make each item a true masterpiece, emphasizing the deep connection between craftsmanship and cultural traditions.

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov spoke about the significance of 2025, which has been declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN, thanks to the initiative of Turkmenistan. He emphasized the role of cultural events in strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, as well as promoting peaceful initiatives.

"This exhibition is an important step for Turkmenistan in the field of culture. We have presented our cultural and historical heritage in such a prestigious venue for the first time, and this has been an incredible experience for our mission. Through such initiatives, we build cultural bridges that strengthen peace and trust. Turkmen culture is a depth that we rediscover each time through such events", the ambassador noted.

The evening concluded with a tasting of traditional Turkmen cuisine, allowing guests to experience not only the art but also the culinary traditions of Turkmenistan.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium continues to actively showcase its national culture on the international stage. Such initiatives contribute to intercultural dialogue, especially in light of the significance of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
