TURKSOY has published a report on the screening of the Turkmen-Uzbek film "Magtymguly Fragi" held on January 21st at the Turkish House in New York. Speaking at the event, TURKSOY Secretary-General Sultan Rayev said: "This film is a powerful symbol, strengthening not only the depth of cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, but also a symbol of the unity of the Turkic world".

Noting the relevance of Magtymguly’s poetic messages, he emphasized that they continue to be a light illuminating the path for all humanity: "Magtymguly Fragi is a sage whose ideas transcend his time; he is a representative of universal values such as justice, brotherhood, and peace. Today, the world needs thinkers like Fragi more than ever".

Rayev also reminded that 2025 has been declared the International Year of Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan, and stated that the organized event is a significant beginning of this year. Concluding his speech, he quoted Magtymguly Fragi: "Let us unite, and glorifying our friendship, set an example for the whole world!"

The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in New York, Muhittin Ahmet Yazal, speaking before the special film screening, made the following statement about the significance of this event: "Today, at the Turkish House in New York, we hosted the Turkic world. And Magtymguly Fragi, one of the most important figures, thinkers, and poets of our history, our common culture, the culture of the entire Turkic people, played a significant role in this".

Before the screening, an interview was conducted with the film crew of " Magtymguly Fragi". Its director, Muzaffarhon Erkinov, spoke about the preconditions and importance of this film project: "This film, made for the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, was initiated by our respected President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for his support. Our film shows the unity of two peoples, and moreover, the unity of the entire Turkic world. We filmed this project in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, created more than 50 filming locations, and did a large-scale work. We are united by language, religion, and culture. And it was a great honor for us to show this unity through the prism of cinema".

The lead actor, young actor Ahmet Amandurdyev, also shared his feelings and thoughts. He confessed that he considers it a great honor for himself to portray the outstanding thinker Magtymguly Fragi on the big screen, and a matter of particular pride that this film work received the first prize at the "Gorkut Ata" Turkic Film Festival.
