Population of Uzbekistan exceeds 37.5 million

The population of Uzbekistan has exceeded 37.5 million, increasing by 2% over the year. Last year, the birth rate decreased for the first time since 2017 by 3.7%. In 2024, the number of marriages concluded was also the lowest in the last 10 years.

As of January 1, 2025, the permanent population of Uzbekistan was 37,543,200 people. Thus, the population growth in 2024 was 2%, or 743,400 people. This data was presented by the State Statistics Committee under the President of Uzbekistan.

Of the total population, 18.9 million (50.4%) are men and 18.6 million (49.6%) are women.
