Turkmenistan and VSO discuss education modernization projects

In Ashgabat, January 27, 2025, a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the international organization Volunteer Services Overseas (VSO) took place in Ashgabat. Volunteer Services Overseas (VSO) is an international organization headquartered in London, United Kingdom. VSO specializes in volunteer support and human capacity development in key areas such as education, health, and livelihoods. The organization is actively involved in more than 20 countries, with a particular focus on improving the quality of education, training teachers, and creating inclusive learning environments. VSO implements projects aimed at sustainable development and ensuring equal access to opportunities for all.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of education and exchange experiences. Particular attention was paid to issues of teacher professional development, the introduction of modern teaching methods, and the development of educational programs aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills for life in the modern globalized world.

Representatives of VSO, including Mr. Purna Shrestha and Ms. Joyce Laker, emphasized the importance of educational initiatives aimed at supporting and developing teachers, schools, and students. They noted VSO's readiness to share its accumulated experience in the field of education reform and strengthening teachers' capacity.

During the meeting, the possibilities of implementing joint projects aimed at modernizing the education system of Turkmenistan were discussed. Particular interest was shown in exchanging best global practices and introducing innovative approaches to learning.

The meeting took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, demonstrating the mutual desire of the parties to develop long-term cooperation. The importance of cultural and educational exchange in strengthening friendship between peoples was also emphasized during the meeting.

In conclusion, the participants expressed confidence that joint efforts would allow achieving significant results in the field of education and create new opportunities for students and teachers in Turkmenistan.
