The Embassy of India in Turkmenistan hosted a reception to mark the 76th Republic Day

Today, an official reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan was held at the “Yyldyz” Hotel in the capital, dedicated to celebrating the 76th Republic Day. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev conveyed sincere congratulations on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and expressed best wishes to the Indian people. In his speech, he noted the historically strong ties between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the prospects for developing trade and economic relations. He paid special attention to joint projects such as the TAPI gas pipeline and transport corridors connecting Central Asia with other regions.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, Ms. Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, expressed gratitude for the warm congratulations and noted that Republic Day of India symbolizes the adoption of the Constitution and the establishment of India as a sovereign, secular, and democratic republic. The Ambassador also highlighted India's achievements in science, technology, digitalization, and sports, which reflect the country's successes in recent years.

As part of the festive evening, the importance of cultural exchange between the two countries was noted. Particular attention was paid to initiatives in the field of education, including programs implemented in Turkmenistan, such as the Yoga and Traditional Medicine Center in Ashgabat and the Turkmen-Indian Educational and Production Center.

The event concluded with a cultural program that included traditional Indian dances, music, and yoga.
