At a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, January 24th, the draft Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2025 was presented.

The program aims to accelerate economic growth through production diversification and innovation. Particular attention will be paid to industrial development, the creation of new jobs, and raising the living standards of the population.

Key objectives include: enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy by producing high-quality export-oriented and import-substituting products, increasing foreign trade; strengthening food security and environmental protection; further deployment of digital technologies and the "green economy"; creating a favorable business environment through the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Measures will be taken to improve legislation aimed at attracting investment and strengthening public-private partnerships.

In 2025, investments will be directed towards the implementation of projects such as the development of the next phase of the Galkynysh gas field, the construction of the "Şatlyk-1" gas compressor station, the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline section, named "Arkadagyň ak ýoly" and an important part of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, a 1574 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant in the Balkan Region, an international airport in Jebel, the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway, and a bridge across the Garabogazköl Bay. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of one of the largest projects in the region – the second phase of the construction of the city of Arkadag.
