The International “Silk Way” Rally will commence in Irkutsk on July 12th, traversing the territories of the Irkutsk region, the Republic of Buryatia, Mongolia, and concluding in Gorno-Altaisk, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to a source, "In July 2025, one of the stages of the International “Silk Way” Rally will take place in the Irkutsk region. The ceremonial start of the race will be given in Irkutsk on July 12th… The organizers update the race route annually. This year, it is planned to take place on the territory of two countries – Russia and Mongolia".

It is anticipated that this year's competition will involve racing teams from over 13 countries worldwide. More than 1,000 people and over 350 vehicles will be involved in the preparation and execution of the rally. Winners will be determined in five categories: trucks, cars, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, and quad bikes.

For the first time in the competition's history, the Russian stage will consist of two parts: the first will be held in the Irkutsk region, after which participants will travel through the Republic of Buryatia to Mongolia and then return to Russia. They will finish in Gorno-Altaisk on July 22nd.

The “Silk Way” Rally-Marathon is a globally recognized sporting event of the highest level of complexity. The rally was first held in September 2009 on the territory of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

As a reminder, Turkmenistan was represented by three crews in the 2024 International “Silk Way” Rally..
