A working visit of the delegation of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), has concluded. This was reported on the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The visit is part of the implementation of the bilateral Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters, signed on November 21, 2022, in Abu Dhabi.

The delegates held meetings with officials from the UAE Federal Customs Authority. The Director of the Department of International Customs Relations, Mr. Soud Al-Agroubi, provided an overview of the activities of the Federal Customs Authority and spoke about the progress in implementing the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program.

The meeting discussed cooperation on the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators. In this regard, the Arab side proposed a draft Action Plan for the further development of cooperation in this area.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan also visited Dubai Customs, the Jebel Ali seaport, and the Dubai Customs Academy. Representatives of the Jebel Ali seaport acquainted the delegation members with an innovative system of radioactive scanning of vehicles, which is used for inspections, checking cargo transport and containers. Thanks to its high penetrating power, the contents are thoroughly checked without damaging goods and food products, while prohibited items are detected. The system is capable of scanning 150 trucks per hour moving at a speed of 8-15 km/h.

During the visit to the Dubai Customs Academy, innovative methods of customs training were studied, in particular, the virtual reality training method.
