The President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has accepted the possibility of his candidacy for a new term in the upcoming presidential elections.

He made this statement during his speech at the Congress of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Şanlıurfa, where the famous Turkish singer Ibrahim Tatlises asked him about his readiness to run again. Erdoğan, with a smile, answered: "If you are in favor, so am I" which caused a round of applause among those present.

Mehmet Uçum, chief adviser to the Turkish president, noted that Erdogan's nomination for a new term is possible if the parliament decides to hold early elections in the second half of 2027. Therefore, the legal conditions for the new election of the head of state will be in accordance with the legislation of the country.
