Robots to assist retired citizens in China
In China, technologies are being actively developed to enable the use of robots to assist retired citizens.
Faced with an aging population, where by the end of 2023 the number of people over 65 reached 216.76 million (15.4% of the total population), the introduction of humanoid robots is becoming a necessity. These robots will function as caregivers, assisting elderly individuals in daily life, ensuring their safety and comfort.
As part of reforms approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the creation of a unified national information platform is planned. This platform will connect the needs of elderly individuals with the provision of services.
Furthermore, smart home systems are being developed to help prevent safety risks for the elderly. An important aspect is also the emotional support that robots can provide. They are capable of expressing emotions and interacting with people. This emotional connection is particularly important for elderly individuals.
