Minisforum has introduced a dual portable monitor for "digital nomads"

December 28, 2024 | 13:30 |6106
The new portable monitor, Minisforum MDSA156, can unfold to reveal two 15.6-inch IPS displays with 1080p resolution, connected by a hinge that allows for a 315-degree rotation. The bottom screen is equipped with a built-in stand that adjusts the tilt angle. Thanks to its relatively light weight (only 4.8 kilograms) and two USB-C ports, as well as an HDMI input, the MDSA156 easily connects to laptops, tablets, and smartphones, providing a mobile extension for the main screen. The new portable monitor, Minisforum MDSA156, can unfold to reveal two 15.6-inch IPS displays with 1080p resolution, connected by a hinge that allows for a 315-degree rotation. The monitor is also equipped with stereo speakers and consumes no more than 30 watts of power. Minisforum offers a wide range of use cases, from office work and stock market analysis to gaming and online courses. Promotional materials demonstrate the flexibility of the configuration. The developers offer a vertical orientation to simulate a larger monitor, angled installation for shared use, and full folding for a mobile single-screen mode. The manufacturer emphasizes the ergonomics of the MDSA156, which reduces neck strain during extended use and promotes a natural posture.

However, the peak brightness of only 250 nits and the limited NTSC color gamut make it less suitable for professional color work. Nevertheless, the MDSA156, aimed at "digital nomads", is quite affordable with a price of $231.
