Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in an informal meeting of the heads of state of the CIS
On December 25, an informal meeting of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in the Leningrad Region, Russian Federation.
The summit was attended by Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting participants compared notes on what had been done within the framework of the work of the CIS countries and what needs to be done in the near future.
In particular, the agenda included issues of mutual settlements in national currencies for commercial transactions, import substitution processes, strengthening technological sovereignty in the context of a difficult external environment, and replenishment of the legal framework of the Commonwealth. Russian President Vladimir Putin also invited all summit participants to the anniversary celebrations in Moscow on May 9.
Noting that Russia will hand over the functions of chairmanship in the Commonwealth to Tajikistan as of January 1, the head of the Russian Federation wished Emomali Rahmon and all Tajik friends success and expressed his readiness to provide the necessary assistance.
