Foreign tourist visits to Dashoguz regional museum increase
This year the Dashoguz Regional History and Local Lore Museum has witnessed an increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting the region.
"This is one of the results of successful cooperation between our museum and the country's tourism companies," says the museum's research associate and art historian, Batyr Uzakberdiyev. "As is well known, the tourism sector in Turkmenistan is rapidly developing. Key factors contributing to this growth are the country’s natural resources, its ancient and rich history, the culture of the Turkmen people, and their unique traditions and customs. We actively collaborate with tourism organizations, which opens new opportunities for developing our work and promotes the popularization of our national heritage. We offer tours of our exhibition halls, striving to fully reveal the value and significance of our exhibits to visitors."
According to Uzakberdiyev, many guests become acquainted with the museums of Turkmenistan through the internet, including through the official website "virtualmuseum.gov.tm." This confirms the strong global interest in Turkmenistan's rich national heritage, its archaeological and natural landmarks, traditions, and achievements.
Today, the Dashoguz Regional History and Local Lore Museum holds thousands of exhibits reflecting the history, culture, and art of the Turkmen people.
