A high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality held in Ashgabat
On December 11, a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security, and Sustainable Development was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the participating countries, including heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as leaders of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions and consular institutions abroad.
During the meeting, participants emphasized the effectiveness of the Group of Friends, as evidenced by its consistent expansion. The meeting discussed the possibilities of utilizing the principles of positive neutrality in addressing current global challenges.
In this context, the parties also considered the development of a Global Security Strategy based on the principles of the UN Charter and universally recognized norms of international law, taking into account current global trends.
Additionally, there was an exchange of views on specific methods for expanding practical cooperation to achieve peace, security, and sustainable development.
The participants agreed to continue the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda through 2030 by integrating the principles of neutrality into national and international strategies.
