Damen Shipyards from the Netherlands discusses joint projects with Turkmen shipbuilders


A delegation of the Dutch company Damen Shipyards headed by Kommer Damen visited the Shipbuilding and Repairing Plant “Balkan” in Turkmenbashy this week.
The meeting with the guests, organized in the administrative building of the plant, was attended by representatives of the Maritime and River Transport Agency of Turkmenistan (“Turkmendenizderyayollary”) and Joint Stock Company “Shipbuilding and Repairing Plant “Balkan”.
The key topic of discussion was the prospects of cooperation in shipbuilding, including the production of river dredgers and other areas of bilateral interaction. Representatives of Damen Shipyards emphasized the successful experience of construction and commissioning of vessels at foreign shipyards and expressed interest in joint projects with the Turkmen side, the agency reported.

Within the framework of the visit, the guests were presented a presentation video on the capabilities of the Balkan shipyard and had a tour of its facilities. The delegation highly appreciated the conditions and potential of the enterprise.
Earlier it was reported that Balkan Shipyard will start assembling Damen's CSD 650 dredger under the supervision of “Damen Shipyards Group” engineers.
