Seoul hosted a regional seminar on cross-border digital trade for the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program countries.

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan participated.

The event was held under the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Better Customs for Better Client Service in Central Asia project, which aims to promote inclusive economic growth and support CAREC countries' willingness to honor existing international trade facilitation commitments. For example, the Agreement on Cross-Border Paperless Trade, Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Program.

At the seminar, experts from Korea shared their experience in introducing new digital technologies and modernizing borders while dealing with big data flows.

Participants also discussed the basic principles of cross-border digital trade and how to improve global trade between Korea and interested CAREC countries.

The CAREC (Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation) Program is a regional cooperation program aimed at expanding trade in the region and improving business competitiveness in its member countries through projects in transport, trade, energy, and economic corridor development.
