Kazakhstan is interested in TAPI gas pipeline - foreign minister of Kazakhstan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, said that the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline (TAPI) under construction is of interest to Kazakhstan. He stressed that the Kazakh side indicated its interest in Turkmen and Indian partners, and is currently studying this project. The overall length of the TAPI is 1,814 kilometers, the gas pipeline capacity is 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The construction of the Turkmen section of TAPI is nearing completion. The construction of TAPI on Afghan territory will begin in February next year. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov telephoned the leaders of India, Afghanistan and Pakistan to participate in ceremonies commemorating this event.
