The Meeting of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the CIS Member States is taking place in Ashgabat
Today, the 37th regular meeting of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Population of the Commonwealth of Independent States started at the “Yyldyz” Hotel in Ashgabat. Representatives of the Republics of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the Russian Federation, as well as the CIS Executive Committee and other related bodies have arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the forum. High-level delegations from CIS member states are also expected to join the meeting via video link.
Since 1992, Turkmenistan has been a member of the Advisory Council on Labor, Migration, and Social Protection of CIS member states and actively participates in the work of the Council.
On the first day of the two-day forum, negotiations will be held and relevant documents will be signed on expanding cooperation between the Commonwealth of Independent States member states in the areas of labor, employment and social protection of the population and intensifying relations with sectoral cooperation institutions operating in the CIS economic system. Topics to be discussed include the improvement of labor and social legislation in CIS member states, the employment situation, and lifelong benefits provided to veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Tomorrow, members of delegations of foreign states and CIS countries, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the forum, will visit the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan and the National Museum of Turkmen carpets. They will also experience a specially prepared cultural program.
The forum will conclude its activities on 18 October.
