Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan met with Prime Minister of Pakistan
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
The meeting took place on Tuesday, October 15, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, to which Turkmenistan was also invited.
Welcoming Turkmenistan as a ‘special guest’ at the SCO HGC meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated the importance of Pakistan’s historical and fraternal ties with Turkmenistan. While conveying his best wishes and warm greetings to the Turkmen leadership, the Prime Minister stressed the need to enhance high-level exchanges. He noted the importance of close interaction to fully realize the potential of bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of trade, energy and communications.
Rashid Meredov congratulated Pakistan on successfully hosting the SCO HGC meeting and conveyed best wishes from the Turkmen leadership to the Prime Minister. He reiterated Turkmenistan’s continued commitment to building stronger and closer Pakistan-Turkmen ties, Pakistan Television Corporation reported.
