The team from Turkmenistan won 7 medals at the Universiade of Caspian Countries
From 7 to 12 October, the VII Universiade of the Caspian countries took place in Astrakhan. The competition brought together students from universities that are members of the Association of Universities and Research Centres of the Caspian States. The team from Turkmenistan, consisting of students from Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly and Turkmen State Architectural and Construction University, participated in the Universiade.
Athletes from Turkmenistan took part in competitions in athletics, swimming, chess and checkers, winning a total of 7 medals - 5 silver and 2 bronze, as reported by the Turkmen consulate.
Representatives from universities in Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Russian Federation and students from Haiti, Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, Chad, Tunisia, Egypt and Ghana studying at universities of Astrakhan region, also took part in the competitions.
