Turkmenistan is preparing a program of events for the International Year of Peace and Trust in 2025


Turkmenistan is actively preparing to celebrate the International Year of Peace and Trust in 2025. The President of the country signed a decree at a historic meeting of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan on holding events that will be organized at a high level.
The key coordinators of the program will be the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as political parties and public organizations. They will create a State Organizing Committee responsible for the implementation of this initiative.
The planned events will focus on such important topics as the policy of neutrality, strengthening peace, security, dialogue and ecology. In particular, in December 2025, Ashgabat will host an International Forum dedicated to the results of the year and issues related to the future of world politics. It is also planned to hold an International Parliamentary Dialogue on Peace and Trust, a meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development during this period.
In addition, it is proposed to organize an international conference dedicated to the role of women in strengthening peace and trust, an international youth meeting on the theme of the Year.
An international conference on peace, trust and neutrality is planned to be held in New York at the UN headquarters in the first half of 2025, and events in Geneva and Vienna in the second half. In particular, meetings and ceremonies on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust are planned to be held within the framework of Geneva Peace Week and at the UN International Centre in the capital of Austria. All these events are aimed at creating a platform for dialogue and cooperation in the interests of peace and trust in the international arena.
At a meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov made proposals to prepare a plan of events and celebrations to be held on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The meeting of the Presidium of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan chaired by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held on Thursday, October 3.
The agenda included consideration of tasks arising from the decisions of the Khalk Maslakhaty meeting, which was held on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the country's independence, TDH reported.
