Earlier this week, the Afghan Foreign Ministry announced that it had received an invitation to the next meeting of the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan and intends to take part in it. This was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs in the interim government of Afghanistan formed by the Taliban, Amir Khan Mottaki, at a press conference in Kabul.

In January, the special representative of the Russian president for Afghanistan, director of the second Asian department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zamir Kabulov, said that the work of the Moscow format on Afghanistan would continue in 2024. These meetings traditionally take place in the second half of the year, in the fall. The next meeting of the Moscow format on Afghanistan will take place in the next two weeks in Russia.
