Russian astronaut about the shining Ashgabat and what the cosmos smells like
Russian cosmonaut Sergei Ryazansky recently returned from the International Space Station (ISS) and shares his impressions with journalists. His photographs from the space station, which he posted on his page on the Internet, gained great popularity, especially the pictures of the cities that were ordered to Ryazansky by their residents. Among them was the Turkmen capital.
“One of the brightest cities is Ashgabat. They have a good energy supply, so at night Ashgabat is highlighted in green, and purple, and blue. And it all sparkles,” - said the cosmonaut in an interview with “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
Ryazansky also opened a secret of the smell of space. When the astronauts return from outer space to the ship - they acutely feel a specific smell. “I would call it the smell of welding. And my American colleagues say that this is the smell of the rails after the train has passed them,” Ryazansky noted.
