Tehran to discuss the safety of navigation in the Caspian Sea


Representatives of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss cooperation in order to ensure safety of navigation in the Caspian Sea on May 28-29 in Tehran. According to IRNA, on Sunday, May 26, the head of the organization of ports and shipping of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Akbar Marzban said that the agenda of the meeting will also include cooperation in the field of search and rescue operations at sea, the use of legal mechanisms to control ships. Safety of navigation and prevention of emergencies at sea have received active discussions in recent years on a regional platform. In this respect, it is planned to hold regular meetings, as well as to sign five-sided documents. The draft protocol on cooperation in the field of ensuring the safety of navigation in the Caspian was examined in detail by the delegations of the Caspian states at the previous rounds of talks in Ashgabat.
