Russian business activates at the Investment Forum in Ashgabat
About 10 Russian companies have registered to participate in the Turkmenistan Investment Forum, TIF-2024, which will be held in Ashgabat on 10-11 September.
In particular, among the Russian companies are “Russian Railways”, “Khimvostok”, “Resurs”, TC “Miratorg”, Novikombank, “Garant” Trading House, “Thermomix Group”, “Favorit” and “Akvitens”. Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and “Synergy” University are also planning to take part, TASS reported, citing the forum organizers. In total, more than 350 delegates from 32 countries have registered to participate in the investment forum.
The goal of the forum is to attract foreign investment, especially in the hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea and the largest gas field Galkynysh, as well as to showcase major projects such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline, initiatives in the field of gas chemistry, power generation, construction, textiles, and transport, the development of smart agriculture, and the efficient use of water resources.
Separate sessions will be focused on the green economy, improving transport connectivity, while two key round tables will address environmental aspects of hydrocarbon development with an emphasis on reducing methane and gas emissions and the integration of Turkmenistan into the global economy, including in the context of joining the World Trade Organization. Additionally, the forum will include an exhibition of the country's economic achievements.
The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
