Prevent intellectual aging - eat green salad
A person who every day eats green salad, acts wisely as it helps the sanitation of the brain and prevents intellectual aging. According to the Medical Xpress Journal, such results were obtained by scientists from the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Experts for 10 years studied the nutrition and results of tests to find the intellectual abilities of a group of 960 people, with an average age of 81 years. Test-takers were divided into five groups by the amount of consumption of greenery.
The results help us to take a different view at such conventional products as spinach, cabbage and lettuce.
If it is not quite clear: we have a brain, or the brain has us, but, certainly, it is the most energy-intensive “apparatus” of our body that needs to be recharged. And it should be healthy to permanently keep the capacity for effective mental activity.
The fact is that the aging process of the brain of people eating about 1.3 servings of green salad every day is 0.05 points slower than the people who almost did not eat salad (0.1 servings). Researchers note that, on an annual basis, this difference is 11 years.
Scientists say that people must actively “use” their brains, no matter how hard they resist it and it helps to keep the clarity of mind.
