"Mail.ru Agent" messenger has stopped working after ICQ
The popular messenger "Mail.ru Agent" has officially stopped operating. The service lasted for two decades. It was officially shut down on 20 August.
"Mail.ru Agent" was first developed in May 2003. Initially, the service allowed users to receive notifications about emails coming to their company mailboxes. Six months after its launch, users were allowed to exchange instant messages.
The service was accessible on both computers and mobile phones with internet access. With the rise of smartphones, versions for iOS and Android were developed. The service's functionality was expanded multiple times. For example, developers added the ability to make voice and video calls. In 2011, "Agent" was merged with the ICQ messenger, which also recently ceased operations completely.
