Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kabul Khoja Ovezov and CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Mukhammetmyrat Amanov met with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the latest developments regarding preparations for the extension of the TAPI pipeline in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the construction of the TAPI pipeline in Afghanistan is one of the top priorities for his country, and the relevant Afghan agencies have completed their work on the project. Muttaqi expressed optimism that practical work on the TAPI project in Afghanistan will begin in the near future, according to the website of the Afghan Foreign Ministry.

The Turkmen side also confirmed its readiness to begin construction of the pipeline from its border to the Afghan border and expects this work to begin in the near future.
