Tokayev is preparing to visit Turkmenistan in the fall
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Monday, August 5. The heads of state noted the high dynamics of the development of Kazakh-Turkmen relations and discussed preparations for the upcoming visit of the Kazakh leader to Turkmenistan this fall.
“The importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics, energy, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres was emphasized,” the press service of Akorda noted.
Turkmenistan's TDH news agency reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Kazakhstan and take part in the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, as well as the first Summit of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, which will be held in Astana this week.
Last month, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev presented his credentials to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Sending the ambassador to Ashgabat, Tokayev set him a number of tasks to develop bilateral cooperation, including in such areas as energy, transit and transport, trade, and separately instructed to pay attention to the issues of high-quality content of the substantive part of the upcoming high-level talks.
