Animals at football: match in England was suspended owing to alpaca
In England, during a football match the 7th division “Carlton Athletic” and “Ilkley Town” clubs, there was a curious episode. An alpaca ran onto the field, jumping over the fence, said the teams on Twitter.
As noted, the animal’s name is Oscar. It jumped out 5 minutes before the break, ran across the field and scared one player. At first, he went to the center of the football field, but then changed its mind and turned towards the bench for reserve players.
The match had to be interrupted for a few minutes due to the alpaca running out. Later the game was finished, the winner became the team of “Ilkley Town” by a score of 2:0.
“I’ve been playing and watching football for 40 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” says “Ilkley” president Richard Giles.
According to Mr.Giles, Oscar appeared for good luck: after the appearance of the animal, “Ilkley Town” scored two goals and won. Now the club wants to have its own mascot-alpaca.
