"Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan" JSC organizes Chinese export-import trains through the territories of Turkmenistan


As the national operator of container transportation, "Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan" JSC (TLCT), in close cooperation with other operators, successfully performs railway container transportation on many routes, which ensures high quality and reliability of services.
Taking into account the importance of cargo traffic from China to the Middle East and taking into account the resumption of the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran container train and back, on April 23-24, 2024, the participating countries organized quadrilateral negotiations between representatives of the railways of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beijing. During the meeting, the parties studied the full schedule of China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran container trains, agreed on preferential tariff rates for container trains on this route, and also discussed the appointment of specialists to form an expert group to study the fixed schedule of all railway trains on the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran route and back.

In addition, the parties agreed on the period of transportation of goods along this route, which will be 15 days.
"Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan" JSC together with "KTZ Express" JSC organized a test Chinese export container train consisting of 45 (forty-five) 40-foot containers (cargo - auto parts of various types), which successfully set off in the direction of Xi'an-Altynkol-Bolashak-Etrek-Tehran. Also, an Iranian export train was organized in the opposite direction, consisting of 50 (fifty) 40-foot containers (cargo - gypsum powder) on the route Kum-Etrek-Bolashak-Altynkol-Yiwu. The container train was overloaded from the broad gauge to the narrow gauge and back at the Etrek railway terminal.
