The iOS 18 mobile operating system, which will become generally available this fall, will feature Emergency SOS Live Video, which allows you to make video calls to 911 and communicate with service dispatchers and other emergency services.

This can be extremely important in extreme situations. For example, communicating via video will allow emergency dispatchers to better assess the situation and give more effective advice.

Currently, the Emergency SOS function, available on iOS, already allows you to make voice calls and send messages to rescuers, as well as report your location.
