The Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met on Wednesday, July 24, in Islamabad with Federal Minister of Petroleum of Pakistan Musadiq Malik.

The parties discussed priority issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and the promotion of the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project.

Reliable and affordable energy supplies are vital to Pakistan's industrial sectors and overall economic stability, Musadiq Malik stressed. He also added that Pakistan is fully committed to the TAPI project, which is of great importance for regional energy cooperation and infrastructure development.

During the negotiations, Muhammetmyrat Amanov, the CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited, noted that thanks to the special attention of the Minister of Oil and the Special Council for Investment Promotion (SIFC) the TAPI project has made significant progress and is on the right track.
