WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan conducted a course on sanitary inspection of ships


The World Health Organization Country Office in Turkmenistan, together with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, organized a training course on sanitary inspection of ships and issuance of ship sanitary certificates.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the “Turkmendenizderyayollary” Agency, the State Veterinary Service, the State Quarantine Service, employees of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and specialized experts.
The training course was conducted as part of WHO's efforts to strengthen the national capacity of Turkmenistan through the implementation of the One Health Action Framework to improve the quality of health services in Central Asia.
Points of entry (POEs) such as airports, ports and ground transportation hubs play an important role in preventing, detecting and responding to public health events that may arise due to international travel and trade.
