From May 21 to 27, the international program “Turkish Cuisine Week” is taking place in Turkey and abroad.

It is held under the patronage of the wife of Turkish President Emine Erdogan with the aim of popularizing national dishes.

“Turkish Cuisine Week” is coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. As part of the program, the country's diplomatic missions around the world conduct various events and social media campaigns to popularize the dishes.

Thus, a similar event was also organized by the Embassy of the Turkish Republic in Turkmenistan.

Guests were offered traditional dishes from the Aegean region of Turkey. The menu included various types of olives, cheeses, the famous tarhana soup, mujver (zucchini pancakes), spinach pancakes, Izmir-style meatballs, and a fig dessert with mastic ice cream.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok noted that traditional tables are one of the manifestations of the generosity of the Turkish people, their love of communication and solidarity. A well-set table demonstrates the hospitality of the Turks, showing special honor to the guest.
